Puerto Rico Rises has not stopped in its task of helping Puerto Rico and me either.
My new mision? Start a blog in our website www.puertoricorises.com.Because we all know enough about all the negative experiences that people had suffered because of Maria, we want to do something funny, smile, yes, funny!🤣😂
If you couldn't shave your legs for like a month or If because of the lack of electric power you went to work with a sock with one color and the other with another color. If you needed to put on your makeup in a rush using the light of some candles and when the sun came out you saw that you were making the competition to Agapita the clown, then WRITE AND SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES AND SEND THEM TO: firstname.lastname@example.org or better yet, share them yourself by here
Thanks to María I learned to laugh when my heart was aching the most. I was in the middle of a personal situation really hard to deal with when Maria hit my beloved Island. I had two choices by then, stay at home crying for my own situation, or rolled my sleeves and start working collectively to help my people. It was a very hard moment, not knowing anything about some of my family members for days, not knowing even, how to start to help makes me stronger. Today, 7 months later, I'm the Team Leader of Puerto Rico Rises and the Blog Director. So... Thank you Maria, because of you I stand in my feet and FIGHT! Note that the picture is not portraying the sadness, but the silliness that helped me to go through those hard days.
That's the first blog I want in here - How silly can you look alike even in your worst day? 1, 2, 3, GO!
Zahira Alicea - I started as a City Coordinator from Ohio, collecting supplies to bring to Puerto Rico. As time pass by I got more involved in the foundation and their mission. Puerto Rico Rises has become my biggest passion. Knowing, first hand, that in fact, all the donations we have collected are distributed directly into those that needed the most, light my fire to help spread the word about our initiative. I considered myself someone with a really good (sometimes dark) humor and why not to put it into service of we all to surpass this experience with a better attitude. Let's thanks Maria for all we have learned.
